A story of two Barns...
Sometimes we plant seeds and not realize it.
Sometimes life gets messy.
Sometimes life takes that unexpected turn and what you are supposed to be doing was right there all along inside this beautiful mess we call life.
I remember 9 plus years ago now, I made several hair bows and placed them in a old gift box. Someone was wanting these bows I made for Libby to sell on consignment in her hair salon. It made me feel like I could do anything. Even though I had no knowledge of starting my little home business , but I would dream of logos, packaging, having my own website. I am not sure I sold a single bow from that little old box, but people saw something they wanted and I started making custom bows to match outfits for their little girls. I have learned over the years to let things grow organically, let this all evolve into what its supposed to be. Not to force it. Not to go big, but start simple and plant seeds along the way. I am not exactly sure what this next step looks like, but I am excited to see where it all goes.
For many years I have had this vision of a barn. I was a city girl, so my vision for the barn wasn't what you typically would think you would want a barn for. I had this strong vision for tables lined with flowers and string lights hung from above. People gathered, creating together. I want it to be an experience, something special, inspired by you all. A little over a year ago this barn was moved and started to be rebuilt , I felt a connection to this barn , and it wasn't even my barn. This barn has had a special way of connecting many. This barn also has a special story for another day.
As I shared with you all a couple weeks ago here , we as a family are entering a new season. With that comes change and growing in different ways than we planned. The studio where I have been holding workshops and events will only be used for creating and making starting later this month. This will allow me to create a work schedule that works for my family. We are transitioning into to a few off site events a year. Also, at this same time the barn on my husband's family's farm is rebuilt and we will be hosting a workshop (or two there this summer). We are teaming up with a local florist to bring a magical , magazine worthy, summer event to our area. The details & date for this event are still being worked out, but will likely be in July.
Our BIGGEST announcement is on a larger scale. This November 11th & 12th we are hosting a Barn Sale. This Barn is located next to the Maze Craze in New Springfield, Oh. It has ample parking and space for this sale that we plan on holding twice a year.
When I started this journey, I never wanted it to be just about me. I wanted to be able to give others a platform , an opportunity, I wanted to inspire you. I want to see YOUR gifts and talents shine.
This past fall I took a chance and messaged Loralee. I was always drawn to her barn. Every time we drove by, I had this vision of a Barn Sale for our area, with many makers/ artisans / vintage. I was so worried she would think I had lost my mind. Turns out she has a vision for this barn too. She would sit outside for hours, just staring at and dreaming about her own wedding company, not just rent the barn for weddings but also rent out decorations and designs she makes and creates. My Wish Weddings, LLC. Loralee had Libby and I out at the barn. Once I was in the space, I knew it was perfect for this little dream. We planned and set a date a little over a week ago. Next, I called in my friend Carlyn K Photogrpahy to do a quick little photo shoot last Thursday. Libby did a little hand lettering for our logo last week too, and another talented friend Juilanna created our logo. Save the date postcards are in the works! The barn is still under renovation. As soon as the flooring is finished, we will map out booth spaces for artisans. This Barn Sale will be a juried market, meaning you will have to submit a application with photos. Vendor applications will be open in a few weeks. If you are interested in being a vendor or just attending , subscribe here to our email list.
Note: Be sure to scroll to the bottom of our home page, it reads "subscribe" on the lower right hand side. Enter your email, and an automated email will be sent to you to confirm your subscription. You will be the first to know all the exciting news and information.

Sometimes change is good & you have to welcome it with open arms. Take that chance and just go for it. Trust God with your dreams, and let him take you where you never thought you could possibly go. I am not going to lie, when I heard that still voice , now is time to make this transition. I tried to talk myself out a time or two. I was really letting fear get a hold of me. A few weeks ago I had a peace come over me that Sunday at the Farm, Not knowing exactly what it all looks like or how it was going to all work out. Just a little blind faith & whole lotta prayer. And then two weeks later... Junque at the Barn was born. I get to do this all with my daughter by my side, and my other kids close by my side. The younger kids mostly just play in the dirt, as kids should. For this season we are in I am trying to soak up every bit of it for we will never be in this place again. The good , the hard and the blessings some times they all flow at the same time.
We hope you all join us in our newest ventures this year. Libby & I will see you at the Barn.
P.S. Both Barns are able to be booked for weddings , The Barn in New Waterford, where I am holding my summer workshops, will hold about 100 people and can book for this year and next . My Wish Weddings, LLC, where the Barn Sale will be held, is still under some construction but can hold larger weddings and is expected to be ready to rent out in near future. Two amazing locations, feel free to contact me if you are seriously looking to book a wedding, and I can send you the contact info for the venues.
